1. When building my booth, why does a warning appear when I press 'Save & Preview'?


If a warning appears when you press the 'Save & Preview' button in the booth builder saying:

 


followed by:

You need to have to Administrator Permission turned ON.

This is because the booth builder saves information about the booth you are creating to the Program Files folder on the C: Drive of your computer. This needs administrator access in order to do this.

2. How do I install the XpoFairs application?

Once registered and you click the download application button on the website, you will be presented with a dialogue box that asks if you want to ‘Run’, ‘Save’ or ‘Cancel’.

Click the ‘Run’ button. The application will then take approximately 2 minutes to download whereupon it will automatically start to install on you computer – simply follow the on-screen instructions.

Once installation has finished an XpoFairs icon will appear on your desktop. Double click on this to start using the application and visiting the shows.

3. Why won’t the XpoFairs application run on my computer?

The XpoFairs application has been built to run on Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and Windows 2000 with a broadband internet connection.

We currently do not support any Apple Macintosh operating systems, although we are working on providing support for these in the near future.

4. Why do I need to enter my username and password when I run the XpoFairs application?

When you enter your username and password into the XpoFairs application, you are enabling the application to retrieve your unique details; for example which tickets you hold for shows and other information about yourself or your company that you may wish to pass on to other exhibitors or visitors within a show.

All login procedures, both on the website and in the application are encrypted with highly secure 1024-bit encryption to ensure your details are always safe.

5. Why do halls sometimes take a long time to load?

All show information (for example halls and booths) are downloaded live from the internet to ensure you are receiving the most up to date and recent exhibitor information. If you have a slow internet connection this will mean the halls will take slightly longer to load. Please see our system requirements for more details.

6. Do I need to be connected to the internet in order to visit a show?

All show information (for example halls and booths) are downloaded live from the internet to ensure you are receiving the most up to date and recent exhibitor information. Once you have visited a show for the first time however, this information is then stored locally on your computer which means you can visit a show ‘offline’. When visiting a show offline however, you will not be able to access web links from exhibitor’s booths or Exhibitor Profiles, and may not have the most up to date show layout available.

7. How do I walk around a show?

When you have entered the 3D show environment, you can walk around by either holding down the right mouse button and moving the mouse in the direction you wish to travel or by using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

8. I want to visit a show other than the Demo Show and I can’t find it on the Show List when I load the XpoFairs application.

All visitors and exhibitors automatically get immediate access to The Demo Show. In order to visit our other shows however you need to acquire a ticket. To do this you will need to visit the Shows Page of the XpoFairs.com website, select the show and click the ‘Buy Ticket’ button at the top of the page. When you have completed the necessary steps you will be issued with a ticket for that show which will enable you to enter the show the next time you login to the XpoFairs application.

9. How can I get information about a company exhibiting in a show?

On every booth within a show can be found a blue ‘i’ button. Clicking on this button with your mouse will reveal the booth’s ‘Exhibitor Profile’ which contains extensive contact and company information.

10. Why do some of the booths have large numbers on them where there should be pictures?

This indicates that the images on the booth are still downloading from the internet. If you stop walking around the show, you will see the numbers turn to pictures as more and more of the show information is downloaded.

11. Why when I walk around the 3D environment is the movement shuddering and slow?

This is usually down to your computer not meeting the minimum system requirements needed in order to get a satisfactory experience from XpoFairs.

If you believe your computer has met the minimum system requirements, it may help to close other applications that are running at the same time.

12. How do I get my own booth in a show?

You will need to reigster as an exhibitor and following the steps found here.

13. Why on occasion do I need to re-login to the application?

For security reasons, the application will log you out if it detects there has been no activity for a certain amount of time. Simply re-login to continue using the XpoFairs application.

14. How can I search for exhibitors / products / brands etc when I’m walking around a show?

As well as being able to visually locate exhibitors and products as you walk around the 3D show environment, XpoFairs also has an extensive word based search and browse facility.

Simply click on the A-Z button found on the top menu bar. This will reveal the search panel.

Check any of the boxes and press the ‘Go’ button to search by exhibitor, product, brand, country, booth or hall. Click on an exhibitor’s name from the search results to see their exhibitor profile and click the ‘Visit Booth’ button to be instantly transported to their booth within the show.

You can also enter any keyword into the ‘Keyword Search’ box and press the ‘Go’ button to perform a search for exhibitors using a keyword.

15. How can I save the details of an exhibitor whose products or services I’m interested in?

When viewing an Exhibitor Profile, you can save the details by clicking on the ‘Add to Favourites’ button. You can save up to 50 favourites at a time on your local computer.

To access your favourites again, click on the ‘Favourites’ button found on the top menu bar. Clicking on any of the exhibitor’s names will instantly transport you to their booth.

To export all of your favourites click the ‘Export’ button found in the Favourites side panel. This will export all of your favourites and all of their contact information to a .cvs document which you can open and sort in any spreadsheet program.

To delete a favourite from the list, either press the delete link next to the relevant exhibitor or delete all of your favourites by clicking the ‘Delete All’ button found at the top of the Favourites side panel.

16. Why when I click on an image in a booth does nothing happen?

When setting up their booth, an exhibitor may have chosen not to provide a website link from an image on their booth. In this case nothing will happen when you click on the image.

17. How can I move from one hall to another when I’m in a show?

You can either move from hall to hall by clicking on the Show Map and selecting the hall you wish to enter or by finding a walkway within the 3D show environment and clicking on the arrow found on the signpost.

18. Can I see a map / floor plan of the show I’m in?

Yes, by clicking on the Floor Plan button found on the top menu bar. Hovering your mouse over the booths on the map will reveal the company names of the various exhibitors.
